Welcome to North East India! Meet our chauffeur at Guwahati Airport (GAU). Scenic mountain drive to Shillong (approx. 3.5 hours) with a photo stop at the serene waters of Umiam Lake (Barapani). Check in to your hotel and enjoy an evening walk around Police Bazar.
Drive to Cherrapunji (one of the wettest places on earth). Stop at Mawkdok Dympep Valley viewpoint and Elephant Falls. Tour the thundering Nohkalikai Falls (India's tallest plunge waterfall at 1,115 ft), Seven Sisters Falls, and explore the ancient Mawsmai Limestone Cave.
Embark on an unforgettable guided trek through dense subtropical rainforest descending to Nongriat village. Marvel at the 200-year-old Double Decker Living Root Bridge grown by Khasi elders. Take a refreshing swim in crystal natural rock pools before returning to your resort.
Visit Mawlynnong (Asia's cleanest village), climbing the bamboo skywalk tower overlooking Bangladesh plains. Continue to Dawki on the border for a country wooden boat ride across the transparent Umngot River where boats seem to float in mid-air. Return to Shillong.
Drive down from Meghalaya into the lush Brahmaputra floodplains of Assam towards Kaziranga National Park (approx. 5.5 hours). Enjoy the scenery of emerald tea estates and rural Assamese villages. Check in at your jungle wildlife lodge in Kaziranga.
Early morning jungle safari across the Central / Western range to spot the great one-horned rhinoceros, wild water buffaloes, swamp deer, and Asian elephants. Return to lodge for breakfast. Afternoon 4x4 open Gypsy game drive for tiger and migratory bird sightings.
After breakfast, drive to Guwahati (approx. 4.5 hours). Time permitting, visit the sacred Kamakhya Temple atop Nilachal Hill. Transfer to Guwahati Airport (GAU) for your departure flight with wild memories of the North East.
